To make this knitting stitch you need multiple of 3 + 1

Swatch
To make this swatch, CO 23 sts. (this include 2sts border each side, take a note that on the last 3+ 1, we only going to use 3 sts and not the + 1, to make the swatch just perfect!)

Instructions

Knitting abbreviations:

k: knit | p: purl | yo: yarn over

Star Stitch: *introduce right needle into 3sts of left needle through the back loops, yo as you going to knit but keep sts on left needle, yo, introduce needle into the 3sts again through back loop, yo as you going to knit, and this time pass sts of left to right needle, k1, repeat from*

Number of stitches:
To make this knitting stitch you need multiple of 3 + 1

Note: I marked the 2sts border in bold to make a difference

Cast on 23sts (this include 2sts border each side, take a note that on the last 3+ 1, we only going to use 3 sts and not the + 1, to make the swatch just perfect!)

Row 1 (WS): with Color 1, k2, purl to 2sts, k2

Row 2 (RS): k2, *(star Stitch), repeat from to 5sts, work only the 3sts of star st, k2

Row 3: change to color 2, repeat row 1

Row 4: k2, k2 *(star Stitch), repeat from to 7sts, work only the 3sts of star st, k2, k2

Repeat row 1 to 4
